Why do so many people believe the crap that comes out of the mouths of so-called psychics like Sylvia Browne?

Seriously! This woman is obviously a charlatan. Ditto with John Edward and James Van Praagh. Did you know that before the fate of the miners in the Sago mining disaster was known, she "predicted" that all but one would survive, but the opposite turned out to be true? Also, I once caught her on "The Montel Williams Show". She gave a description of what heaven was like! Can you believe that?!

Why do so many people believe the crap that comes out of the mouths of so-called psychics like Sylvia Browne?
some do because they are raw with grief at the death of a loved one,and find consolation in the lies these people tell, and just for the sake of money too.

others believe because of genuine interest in the afterlife.

while most believe because they have little common sense,to see thru the scam.
Reply:I don't see the difference between her and a televangelist. just another con artist.
Reply:YOU ARE SO RIGHT. BUT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE LIES BEFORE THEY WILL BELIEVE THE TRUTH.

LIES JUST ARE SO MUCH EASIER,ON THE EARS.

SYLVIA BROWNE TALKS LIKE SHE IS A GOD LOVING WOMAN-WHEN JUST THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE.

SOME PEOPLE DO HAVE A GIFT-SOME FROM JESUS-

SOME FROM SATAN.

IF THEY CHARGE MONEY-ITS FROM SATAN.

GOD SAID DON'T CHARGE MONEY FOR HIS GIFTS.
Reply:because they don't have the peace and assurance that only GOd can give and deliver. They hope and base their lives on the unknown instead of facing a Living Saviour.
Reply:There are alot of phonies out there... that I can agree with. But, there are some that are genuine... otherwise I don't think the FBI would be employing them for their psychic abilities. Our Gov't likes to waste our tax dollars, but they have to get something out of it. If the psychics they hired weren't actually doing anything, they wouldn't be there.
Reply:For the same reasons that people buy into religions.
Reply:People just need something and someone to believe in that is all.Sometimes God and for others Jesus is not enough.
Reply:People need something she offers. And how do you know Browne and the others are total fakes? I have watched them carefully and I don't know who is fake and who isn't.
Reply:Con-artists. Very good con-artists, but con-artists.
Reply:They prey on people's insecurity's. I think religion plays a role in it too. They so desperately want to actually speak to God, or at least someone from the other side. If they listen to these scam artists, they can pretend to validate that there whole religion thing has some tangible validity.
Reply:you cant prove she is wrong, being a psychic is a gift from God, its how you use the gift which makes it good or bad.
Reply:The same reason that people believe the crap that comes out of the mouths of so-called prophets. Gullibility.
Reply:Not sure but I do know it is hard not to believe what they say when they tell you personal things that are true that they have no idea of knowing about.... How do you not believe some one when they tell you something that the have no way of knowing that which is true?....Sylvia Brown is a wonderful person but I think her greed is getting in the way and I also feel that she is mostly for show and funds... I am not saying she is not correct about her predictions I just think she could do better with her whole appearance and with her fans and the ones whom really truely need her help I am not sold when she tells loved ones about murder in the family. I think she at times gives people false hope... Sometimes I think she may feel things about others sitting close to them and gets them mixed up with other people.
Reply:Her clientele is obviously Christian.
Reply:The with the holy spirit comes the gift of prophecy. I have experienced this. Evil can also grant gifts, at a much larger cost. Evil is also good at deception.
