Dose any one know what the odds are That a norther accident will happen like the one at the saso mine?

ok this is my problem , my husband is a coal miner, and like the Sago mines they have alot of gas behind what is called sills,(at frist it was at 12%)and the fedrail mine inspector hs shut the mines down, that was two weeks ago, altho i know the imporatnce of this action my husband think that the new laws are too strict and will shut down what is left of the small mine companys down in this region., if i had hard fact that would prove the nessity of his and three other mines around here ,mabey he wouldnt be so upset.and ease his mind alittle .

Dose any one know what the odds are That a norther accident will happen like the one at the saso mine?
I appreciate your concern, however there is no good answer to your question. Well, there is a good answer, but you won't like it.

The probability that another fatal coal mining accident will happen is 100% as long as the same techniques are in use. That is the nature of dangerous activities like coal mining.

What you should be concerned with is the probability of such an accident occurring where your husband works. That depends heavily on the conditions, safety standards and mining techniques used at that particular mine. You would have to get that information from someone who has actually inspected the mine. The federal mine inspector would be a good source, and you already have seen the results of what they think.
