Why hasn't my Sago Palm made any new growth this year?

Last year it made new leaves, this year, it has stayed exactly the same.

Why hasn't my Sago Palm made any new growth this year?
These are very slow growing palms, and some years do not make new growth. You could prepare it for next year by top dressing (scrape some old compost from the top of the pot and replace with new; don't disturb the root ball) in spring and make sure the plant is not pot bound.

Good luck!
Reply:Is it planted in the ground, or in a pot. If it is rootbound in a pot, it will slow down.

You can water a Sago palm too - but it has to have drainage. Get some palm tree fertilizer and follow the directions. Lowe's has a sprinkle on type. Easy to use, hard to go wrong. Also, if you feed it 1gal of water with 1 tsp of epsoms salt, it will help.
