I have a sago palm, the leaves are dieing from the plant outward. what can i do for them?

I have fertalized with manganeese and magnesium but they have not came around yet. i did get new leaves and they were all green for a while then started dieing again.

Sago palms need little maintenance. But a lot of people aren't aware that the bottom leaves should be cut off periodically. Perhaps you are over fertilizing.
Reply:I live in the tropics, when the start to die cut them off and give it room for new growth.
Reply:check to see if your sago has little white things on it. if so you might have a scale mite problem
Reply:From your description I would say you have a scale problem. Taiwan White Scale is a common problem with these plants. It is often fatal and highly contagious.





Cut off all the fronds as close to the trunk as possible to deny food for the scale. Then apply a horticultural oil. Follow the label instructions for treating scale.





Btw, the Sago Palm is not a palm nor does it produce Sago.
