How do you stop sago pearls from sticking together when its cooling in the fridge?

I'm making gula melaka pudding. And its really difficult to eat once its clumped together. Someone suggested egg white, but I don't like the idea of picking up salmonella from raw eggs. Any better suggestions welcome!

When eating the pudding, adding gula melaka syrup %26amp; coconut milk and then mixing them well with the sago will loosen the sago. And you certainly don't add egg white!

As mentioned by the other respondent, after cooking (when all the sago pearls have turned transparent), you can soak them in some cold water for a short while to stop further cooking, firm up the pearls %26amp; prevent them sticking together too much. You can also rinse under running cold water. Then you can drain %26amp; place into molds to refrigerate.

-That why we put it in the mold to give the shape. And eat after by pouring the Gula Syrup on it.

But to answer your question, to stop it sticking, do soak it in cold water and fridge.
