Soil is too alkaline. See website below.

Why are my sago palms turning yellow?
Trust me,,,,,in south Texas where the temps exceed 100 in August.....all the sago palm turn yellow.....probably lack of water and the lady that has already answered is right..........sunburn......
Reply:Too much water or you have used the wrong type of fertilizer
Reply:Too much water!
Reply:Did it just happen over the last month or so? Do you live in the South West? It's Sunburn, Sago's like the semi shade, I know there are many doing well in the full sun, but they usually sunburn by the end of the summer, because they have pretty good new growth , and it burns easy. I've seen them stark yellow from top to bottom as well too. Best thing to do is trim them up pretty well to get rid of all the growth that is taxing the plant. Dig down a couple of inches a take a look at your soil, is it bone dry, or dry, it should be moist enough were it can compress into a loose ball without to much pressure. If it is dry at all, put a drip on it for 12 hours , or so. Put your hose near the plants trunk and turn your hose on a very low, drip, that's just a trickle, just a steady stream but not rushing, you want the water to go down before it can puddle much, so if it's building up very much turn your hose down a little. You can do this 2-3 times per summer along with your regular watering. It will take Sago's a month or two to recover, but not to worry, they will.
Reply:I don't know if this will help you, but I had the same problem and found out a neighborhood dog was urinating on them.

Good Luck
